Customer Amazed at Energy Saving Control

Federal Welder recently supplied a new FW800 automatic drum welding machine to a company in the Far East. This company operates another drum welder next to the new machine and can compare the energy requirements of both machines on the same power distribution panel (see picture). The existing machine is a normal two phase welder drawing 600 amps/phase whilst the new welder utilizes the latest SS1200 3 phase control and is drawing only 90amps/phase.
